Daihizan Fumonji

Location

The centre is located in the southeast of Germany, amidst the idyllic hills of Bavaria. It lies approximately 100 km from Munich and 60 km from Salzburg, Austria. Please see our homepage for detailed travel information.

History

The Zen Centre Eisenbuch was founded by Fumon Nakagawa Roshi in 1996. The inauguration of the monastery and the nomination of Abbot Fumon Nakagawa Roshi took place in 2006. Honorary founder is Ekiho Miyazaki Zenji, the 78th Patriarch of the head Soto Monastery in Eiheiji, Japan. Daihizan Fumonji is therefore in direct lineage with the Monastery Eiheiji, which was founded by Dogen Zenji in the 13th century.

Centre and Monastery

There is the monastery building housing the Zendo, and the seminar and guesthouse with the Buddha Hall. The houses are surrounded by three Zen gardens: Bonkai (Ocean of the Universe), Ryoju-sen (Garden of the Mountain), and A-UM (Yin-Yang Principle in the Universe).

  2. The training of wholesome interaction with body mind and environment.
